Late in 2014 we decided to form a partnership
At the time, Black Point Mercantile was an accessories and leather goods company with an odd hobby: hand-painting canvas rugs. We had two small retail clients in NYC and Nashville and an interior design studio who had used our rugs in a couple projects.
We found our niche within architecture & interior design, and it wasn't long before we landed our most important client: Nike. To date we have completed more than twenty bespoke rugs for Nike, including two 11 x 24 pieces for a newly opened 155,000 square foot B2B sales facility in Chelsea.
In addition to Nike, BPM also produced bespoke work for Uber, Fubo.tv, John Derian, Studio O+A, Onitsuka Tiger, and Filson. Our retail presence spanned NYC, San Francisco and Tokyo. We've been featured in the German publication Designlines, Japan's Brutus and Casa Brutus, Maine Home + Design, Boston ID, and Remodelista, among others.
As Co-Founder, CEO and Creative Director I was responsible for every phase in the product lifecycle, from materials sourcing to fabrication, delivery and installation.
